The heat is on

Short: Hot Sauce is an Outer Banks rock/funk/psychedelic quartet known for blistering live sets that twist familiar songs into face-melting, crowd-feeding jams.

Long: Born from a shared love of rock’s greatest hits and the spontaneous spirit of jam bands, Hot Sauce spices up every room they play. Influences run from Hendrix and Queen to early Phish: searing solos, intricate arrangements, and improvisation that never sits still.

Expect classic rock anthems with a twist: iconic riffs into fresh jams, Led Zeppelin thunder into Grateful Dead groove, always with the intensity that only Hot Sauce brings. From dive bars to Avalon Pier, Jack Brown’s, Outer Banks Brewing Station, and beyond, every member gets their moment, and the crowd gets the heat back tenfold.

The name says it all. They take something familiar and make it burn hotter, dance harder, and stick longer.

The sauce

Myles Wood

Myles Wood

Drums / Vocals

If there's two words that describe Myles more than anything, it's "team player". Having played for a variety of music groups in the Outer Banks and beyond over the years, he has built a versatility that fits perfectly within Hot Sauce's jam-focused style. Myles draws inspiration from classic rock and funk, in addition to the improvisatory nature of jam bands and jazz. So he knows when to let a beat simmer steadily in the backdrop, but he also knows when to let it boil over and take the song into uncharted waters.

Jordan Lane

Jordan Lane

Guitar / Vocals

Jordan's ability to express himself fluently through his instrument is a testament to his intuitive approach to music. He's perfectly content to sit back in the rhythm and build a trance-like atmosphere, but he truly shines when he kicks it into high gear and allows his guitar to really sing, soaring high above the groove to hit "the party notes", as he calls them. Furthermore, his natural leadership skills help him to direct the rest of the band and give their jams structure; he knows exactly how long a jam should last in order to maximize the motion of hips in the crowd.

Antonio Martinez

Antonio Martinez

Bass / Vocals

Don't let his laid-back demeanor fool you, Toni is serious when it comes to his craft. Originally joining the band for a brief stint as a trumpet player, Toni was called upon to fill in on bass guitar and since then, countless hours of solid work have toughened his internal rhythm (not to mention the skin on his fingers). Yet, for all his admirable discipline, he undoubtedly still knows how to have a good time with it. Ain't nothin but a party, y'all.

Rory McFarlane

Rory McFarlane

Keys / Vocals

While he may have the most formal training of the group, Hot Sauce's resident music theory expert is no egghead. Well, maybe a little. In any case, he still knows how to get down when the occasion calls for it. With an array of sounds at his fingertips, Rory's classical and jazz education combine with a vast mental catalogue of music from around the world, resulting in a truly unique contribution to Hot Sauce's sound. From filling out the rhythm section to creating lush chordal textures to inventing truly wild sounds to accent jam sections, the man on the keys thrives in the spontaneous environment that Hot Sauce provides.
